Karastan + Inspiration

I’ve been affiliated with the Karastan Brand for the last ten years; I was part of their Designers on Call and now am Brand Ambassador to assist with their designer campaign as well as inspirations for their new blog.

After returning from Karastan’s product development facility in Calhoun, Georgia, I got really excited in coming up with some ideas, trends and inspiring patterns from all over the world. My passion has always been exploring creative solutions to design problems and the study of the creative process itself. My curiosity, my love for color and my keen interest in travel have given me a broad palate of experiences and knowledge, which I bring to all of my projects.

Trend Alert: Some of my favorite design trends include bold patterns, classic elements, nature, and new colors such as Purple Wine, Flint Gray, Amparo Royal Blue and Yellow Cream, Marine Green, –all hot colors for fall 2014/15. I’ve featured these colors in some fun trend boards that accentuate the beauty of these shades:

Flint Gray: Pantone 16-5803 TPX

The shades of gray in Karastan’s Worldy Gray – Woolston Plaid carpet is sophisticated, enlightened and timeless. Have the carpet bound in a rug to add a fresh dose of style to a room. White rose via:

Amparo Royal Blue: Pantone: 18-3945 TCX

Amparo Blue is a beautiful, strong brilliant purple blue. I’ve incorporated butterflies via uniqdots. Uniqdots are edible butterflies with a touch of gold and textures into this playful trend board.

Yellow Cream: Pantone 12-0738 TCX

Yellow is one of the hottest colors right now. I’ve combined it with inspiration wallpaper by Osborne and Little, with patterns reminiscent of the lakes of Thailand.

Marine Green: Pantone 16-5721 TCX

Cool and refreshing, this color is perfect with denims and black. Great combined with Chanel pre-fall collection, inspired by the big state of Texas.

Purple Wine: Pantone 18-2929 TPX

This image reflects brilliant contrasts in color, textures and patterns. Actress Emily Blunt in floral shades of purple radiant pink creates lots of excitement by Horticulture floral art.
