In the late 1800’s, the Arts and Crafts Movement swept through England and America. Architects and designers alike created environments with a new perspective, incorporating furniture, wallpaper, textiles, and carpets into highly decorative interior
spaces. Morris & Co., influenced greatly by its chief partner William Morris, became famous for intricate floral and foliage motifs inspired by both Persian design and vintage European textiles. This dramatic homage to the Wm. Morris style is adapted from Morris’ vine and pomegranate motifs, with an acanthus leaf border inspired by
a Morris & Co. tapestry. The dense, rich black used in our William Morris Black has a velvety quality that conveys a dressier attitude. Accent colors include medium blue, mahogany brown, caramel and rich golden hues.
