Karastan Takes Luxury Broadloom in New Directions
February 20, 2007
-Karastan “wows” retailers with new broadlooms that represent the company’s largest and most impressive product launch—spanning a diverse range of fiber types, constructions, price ranges, colors and styling trends. “We are strengthening every segment of our broadloom business,” says Connie Berry, director of marketing for Karastan. “We’re also expanding into new areas that take luxury where it has never gone before. This is an ambitious product launch that gives retailers endless ways to deliver fashion, quality, and value to their customers.”
In 2006, Karastan brought whole-house decorating to the retail floor with the launch of American Treasures. The full line of coordinated carpets, carpet borders, rugs, hall runners and stair runners offer countless mix-and-match options for every type of styling taste. As Karastan moves forward, so too does American Treasures, with eleven imaginative additions in 100% New Zealand worsted wool and 100% Karastan-approved polypropylene constructions. Customers can indulge in the elegance of Marie Louise, a floral trellis with classic beauty, strut their way across Semblant’s stunning blocks of color, or feast their eyes on new patterns of scrolls, stripes, plaids, and diamonds.
Karastan also expands its National Trust Design in America™ Collection. This unique series is influenced by the architecture, interiors and gardens of historic sites across the country. Homes once occupied by Woodrow Wilson, George Washington and Benjamin Chew are the inspiration behind Karastan’s latest introductions— appropriately named Woodrow Wilson House, Woodlawn, and Cliveden. Each 100% Stainmaster BCF nylon style is traditionally patterned in a display reflective of its namesake.
A portion of the proceeds generated by Karastan’s Design in America™ products supports the mission of the National Trust to protect and preserve America’s historic communities and places.
Karastan sets the tone of high style with a new line of hand-crafted wools. Fashions like Bernulli, a ribbed cut-and-loop texture that runs horizontally; Mosaic Contours, a fabulous pattern of repeating squares; Torricelli, endless swirls of color in a petit-hook texture, and Flora Ribbons, a sumptuous combination of wool and silk in a fabulous trellis display—all turn heads while transforming interiors with great design.
Karastan and DuPont™—two of the most esteemed names in floorcovering—are revolutionizing the industry with a new generation of fiber: SmartStrand™ made with DuPont™ Sorona® polymer. Sorona® is spun from non-absorbing 3GT polymers, so it has the built in stain resistance properties of polyester in addition to the performance attributes of nylon. Karastan fashions SmartStrand™ Sorona® in a full selection of beautiful styles that include Earthen Magic, a rugged cabled texture; Essential Living, a classic Saxony, and Coastal Elegance, a hip shag.
