Karastan uses state-of-the art tufting equipment to produce unique carpet textures and patterns. Each is created by inserting loops of pile fiber into a backing material. After loops are inserted into the primary backing, carpets are dyed and a secondary backing is applied to lock the tufts in place. Karastan uses a 13-pick primary backing, which is twice as dense as the industry standard. As such, our carpets are more stable, functional, reliable, and longer lasting.
